SPRING
The season of flowers and colour and life - but also the season of rain and damp and unpredictable weather. Here are a bunch of options both indoor and outdoor depending on which month and ‘vibe’ you are going for!
TULIP FIELDS
these are perfect for early to mid May
STUDIO SPACES
there are studios all over the city from St. Laurent to Kanata and everywhere in between

coffee shops are a perfect way to capture natural moments indoors without the setting feeling like a studio!
ROBERT PLANTE GREENHOUSE
want a spring floral vibe without the weather to match? A greenhouse is perfect!
ORNAMENTAL GARDENS - CHERRY BLOSSOMS / APPLE BLOSSOMS
blossoms bloom here in spring, including cherry blossoms, apple blossoms, magnolias and lilacs
SUMMER
Summer is for sunshine and lush gardens. Long days and late nights, full smiles and clear skies. This season is perfect for sessions full of laughter and green trees!
ORNAMENTAL GARDENS

MAPLELAWN GARDEN
this hidden gem is secluded and full of so many types of flowers and colour, with one entrance and exit it is also perfect for families with young kiddos who love to run, haha
FUN FAIRS
ALL THE FUN ALL THE TIME! COLOURFUL AND JOYFUL!
ICE CREAM SHOPS
these are perfect for families who want to do something fun yet normal for their sessions in the summer - pictured is MERRY DAIRY, another option is BEACH CONERS
AUTUMN / FALL
This is the season for the warm colour lovers! Yellows and reds and oranges, full of changing leaves and playfulness, autumn is many people’s favourite season for photography!
ARBORETUM
this is the CLASSIC fall photoshoot location, with it’s vast space and colourful mature trees
GATINEAU PARK
fancy yourself a hike? this is the perfect fall location!
GATINEAU FIELDS
want to feel like you are in the fields of Scotland? Space for days, colours galore, this is the vibe!
PARKS / OPEN FIELDS
parks, both with or without play structures, are probably the most under-utilized photoshoot locations for families! we can do family photos in the green space and then move to fun storytelling photos on the structures!
TRAILS
Ottawa has so many trail options, and in the fall they are sun soaked and bursting with oranges reds and yellows!
WINTER
The season everyone likes to say they hate, but secretly loves the snow and dreamy vibe of the winter season. Yes, it is cold, but it is also full of hope and joy and cheer - plus SNOW! Not a fan of the weather? Let’s hang out in a studio!
CEDAR HILL CHRISTMAS TREE FARM
this is a hallmark movie incarnate! family owned and operated, this tree farm has character and whimsy and embodies the spirit of the season
RIDEAU CANAL SKATEWAY
classic winter activity meets classic Ottawa location! (don’t skate? don’t worry! We don’t need to skate, we can have a hot chocolate or beavertail!)
TRAILS
Ottawa trails are always wonderful, but in the winter they become gorgeously full of snow and light, making for the perfect place to capture joy
OPEN FIELD
this might be my favourite under-appreciated winter location: any open field. All we need is snow and a tree filled backdrop!
STUDIO SPACES
studio spaces are the perfect choice if you are worried about weather or temperature - Ottawa is full of gorgeous natural light studios! Some pictured here: MDRN in Kanata, Quay in Centretown
